The flaw in NBA 2K23 is that it gives European players an advantage
An NBA 2K23 player made the following claim: “I drafted an autogenerated Euro stash player and untapped the potential in training camp, and now he’s a 91 overall before he’s ever played an NBA game.”
A general term used in basketball, “euro stash,” describes the practice of an NBA franchise drafting a foreign player and then loaning them to a club outside of the United States until they are ready to compete there. Lefteris Diamntopoulous, the player automatically generated for NBA 2K23, only spent one-year playing basketball in Europe after being drafted, yet he still managed to improve his overall rating to 91.
In response, one of the players said on reddit, “This tends to happen to me rather frequently. I wish I knew how to change that because it looks implausible that the Euro stash is far more effective than the G League or the regular NBA.
A second user encountered this issue and was able to resolve it by adjusting the MyLeague sliders. Specifically, they slowed the player progression rate and increased the decline rate. “I will construct a custom roster to improve the performances of underperforming players. Most significantly, I adjust the player potentials to align with reality.”
