Controversy Surrounding the Survivor Perk in Modern Warfare 2: Players Debate its Removal

One fan of Modern Warfare 2 believes that the Survivor perk should be removed from the game because it allowed them to kill another player multiple times in a short period of time.

The Survivor perk in Modern Warfare 2 gives the player an additional opportunity to live. When Survivor is active, attacks that would commonly incapacitate a player will only knock them down instead of putting them out of action entirely.

If the player is unable to self-revive during the next few seconds, they will begin to bleed out on a timer of ten seconds and eventually die. Despite this perk offering considerably more advantages than its share of benefits, some Call of Duty players considers it to be little more than an annoyance.

Players of Modern Warfare 2 are pushing for the removal of the Survivor perk.

A person by the name of Dracula Dracula recently made a post on Reddit in which they demanded the contentious Survivor perk from MW2 be removed. Even a “hard counter” would be enough for them, and it’s simple to see why if you know the gameplay clip connected to the post in question.

In the period of one minute and forty seconds, the video shows the Reddit user taking down their opponent many times. Even headshots were taken, which ought to have resulted in the opponent being eliminated from the fight immediately. However, because of the “crazy” Survivor perk, every time the opponent was knocked down, they were able to get back up and continue the fight.

Several players of Modern Warfare believe that the initial poster is correct in their assessment that Survivor requires some change. “The most aggravating thing is that whoever kills them after they’re downed receives credit for the kill, rather than whoever downed them,” said one person regarding the topic. A number of the other users pointed out that headshots should nullify the benefits of the perk.

On the other hand, some people don’t see the big issue, like some gamers of MW2 who argue that “all you have to do is reshoot them.” Because this often proves to be strenuous under certain conditions, many people would rather that the benefit not be available to them at all.

It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that the Survivor perk in the MW2 upgrade system is not a popular favorite among players. The previous version of this ability, known as Last Stand, was never well received by players either.
