Leaks have suggested that the much anticipated FIFA 23 Team of the Year event would include new unique cards, including TOTY ICONs.
Numerous new promos for FIFA 23 have already been released, but none have the same status and fanfare as Team of the Year. Every season, EA gives players access to a unique team of cards honoring the top performers from the previous year.
One of the most thrilling events on the Ultimate Team calendar, it is also certain to have a ton of SBCs and objectives to fulfill. However, a number of sources claim that FIFA 23 TOTY has another trick up its sleeve, as it’s going to include all-new ICON card types.
Introducing the All-New TOTY ICONs
ToTY Icons and Alternate Reality ICONs, two previously unseen card kinds, have been introduced to the FIFA 23 code, according to renowned FIFA leaker Fut scoreboard.
ICONs, some of the most well-liked and expensive assets in FIFA 23, let players assemble teams that include both the top stars of today and football’s past. These allegedly leaked card types suggest that EA is developing the concept and allowing a few additional players to join the ICONs roster.
Based on the nomenclature, it may be assumed that TOTY ICONs would be updated versions of already-existing Icons, similar to how World Cup ICONs appeared in Qatar in 2022. They could be given to any living Icons who have ever been a member of the FIFA Team of the Year, including Wayne Rooney, Iker Casillas, and Xavi.
Alternately, there has been talk about legends who would have been in the TOTY but retired before the FUT tournament started receiving them.
Alternate Reality ICONs, on the other hand, are more unpredictable. The name alone appears to suggest that there will be some new players joining the squad, perhaps those who appeared to be headed for legendary status but fell short.
It might also be used to describe current athletes like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who are on pace to become ICONs once they hang up their boots.
Remember that not all new items added to the code make it into the game, therefore for the time being these new cards are still simply leaks. In the end, we’ll have to wait until FIFA 23 TOTY begins to find out what EA has in store.
