Pokemon Go Players Demand Relaxed Criteria for Adding PokeStops to Address Route Shortage

Players of Pokemon Go are complaining about the shortage of routes in their communities and are demanding that the criteria for submitting PokeStops be relaxed. Routes are a relatively new addition to the Pokemon Go game, and they provide players the ability to map out specific paths in the game world for other players to follow.

Creating a Route is a simple process, but it must begin at a PokeStop or Gym in the immediate area. This indicates that players in regions that have a limited number of PokeStops that are easily accessible may have a difficult time locating and establishing Routes. As a result, several players and supporters have requested that Pokemon Go relax its standards for adding player-submitted PokeStops to the game.

Players of Pokemon Go seek more lax disciplinary measure PokeStop acceptance

The TheSilphRoad subreddit had a thread titled “With Routes, Niantic Needs to Increase Eligibility for Pokestop Submissions” discussing this topic. This ignited the conversation among the community members. The original poster (OP) indicated that while playing Pokemon Go and attempting to contribute to their local community, many of their PokeStop proposals had yet to be accepted.

The next part of their explanation is as follows: “Since the game’s purpose is to go out and discover new places, it’s unrealistic to expect people to spend every day traveling to new places like parks and cities.” Rural and suburban players have done exceptionally well in gaining in their few stops, but it differs from city life. In addition, they advocated for including minuscule features such as public signs, neighborhood fountains, and even dirt walking routes on the list of potential candidates for signage. Quite a few comments agreed, but they also pointed out how brutal the fight will be. “The issue is, though, they are not submissions for Pokéstops; instead, they are submissions for Wayspots.

Routes have posed an early challenge for many gamers, as they have not yet created them around themselves.

Because Routes depend on local PokeStops, the stringent criteria could be actively hindering the functionality of another feature for players in particular regions of the world. In the future, Niantic will continue to fine-tune and adapt both Routes and PokeStops so that they are beneficial to the maximum number of players.
