Nintendo Reveals New Features and Release Date for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

During a demonstration with Eiji Aonuma, Nintendo showed off 10 minutes of gameplay from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Link’s new abilities, which offer players even more creative control than in Breath of the Wild, were heavily emphasized during gameplay. Nintendo is going for a sandbox-style experience with Tears of the Kingdom, allowing players to customize their experiences by building their vehicles and weaponry.

The floating regions hinted at in the previous trailer were also demonstrated during gameplay. These regions—now known as Sky Islands—have new foes and offer a fresh perspective on the world. Eiji Aonuma also verified the video game’s official completion of development.

What brand-new content for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was made public?

The sky islands, which can be accessed in various ways, were the first alteration made public and one that players had been anticipating for years. Link’s new recall ability was used, as Eiji Aonuma demonstrated in the video.

Players can travel back in time and space by using the recall ability to put things where they once were. When these objects are moving backward, Link can interact with them, which enables him to ride rocks that descend from the sky islands back up to where they came from. Most likely, Link used this power to turn a boulder into a rival in one of the trailers.

Constructs, a new class of enemies with various sizes and forms, are found in the sky islands. Some are armed with weaponry that they could use to drive Link off the islands. Link’s new crafting skills were the most significant revelation that we witnessed. Link can combine unrelated objects, giving them the traits of both, using a new rune named Fuse. Durability, damage, and even novel elemental effects are all increased by this.

Ultrahand, Link’s additional new crafting skill, performs a similar function but for more oversized items. Link can build customized vehicles to overcome any barrier by joining machines, platforms, and other things. These could be anything from automobiles to aircraft, such as gliders. Ascend, which can be used anywhere there is a ceiling, was the final new power shown during this gameplay. Using this technique, the Link can pop out on top of any structures above him. It can be used to get out of buildings, but it can also be used to get people out of caverns or up mountains.
