Nadeshot Demands Ranked System in Warzone 2 to Offset Declining Player Count

Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, a former Call of Duty pro and the founder of 100 Thieves, has requested that the developers of Warzone implement a strong ranked system in response to the continuing decline in the player count for the Battle Royale mode.

The number of people playing Warzone 2 has been going down steadily since it was released in November. The popular battle royale hit its pinnacle just a couple of days after the launch of MW2, but since then, the player count has been gradually decreasing. This is in contrast to the fact that MW2 broke sales records with its release.

Warzone streamer TcTekk said in a tweet on January 14 that the game would be over if it weren’t for nukes. Nukes have been credited with playing a significant role in making the game more enjoyable for players by providing them with a goal to strive toward. The streamer went on to say that whenever he attempts a nuke streak, his audience drastically improves as he gets closer and closer to the end of the game.

Nadeshot Demands Ranked in Warzone 2

Former Call of Duty pro-Nadeshot has proposed to the developers of the game the addition of a ranked system that would turn every match into one that would be worth competing in to offset the game’s waning popularity.

Imagine, Nadeshot continued, “if we had a comprehensive ranking system that made every game worth giving your all, not just games 4 or 5 in your nuke streak.” Nadeshot remarked, “Now that would be something.” “Now imagine that we had that system.” It is not a coincidence that all of the shooter games that have endured the test of time (with a few notable exceptions), all feature a mode called Ranked Play.

He continued by stating, “The obvious argument back is that Call of Duty has been there same as the rest, but I think that is mostly due to the core gameplay and precise controls as well as a new iteration of the game every year.”

“I am aware of its growth, but with the addition of Ranked Game, it has the potential to be even greater.”

The BR sequel has received a great deal of backlash from the community, with players lashing out at the developers for a variety of different reasons. Nadeshot has stated in the past that he desires Call of Duty to be a “bust,” since he believes that this would be the most beneficial thing for the franchise.

The addition of a ranked playlist would come at the ideal time for the developers, with the release of Season 2 scheduled for February 1 of this year.
