Genshin Impact players express dissatisfaction with the 4-star pity system in the game

In Genshin Impact, the four-star pity system ensures players receive an item or a four-star character every ten pulls. However, there are drawbacks to this pull system. The heavy emphasis on gacha mechanics in games like Genshin Impact is one of the most annoying features. Gacha is a game subgenre that uses random pull methods and is named after gachapon or toy vending machines.

These pull mechanisms resemble real capsule machines for toys. After paying to play, you are given a random “toy,” or in the case of a game, an important object. Characters or weapons are examples of them. Naturally, a lot of players find this wasteful and annoying. Fans are dissatisfied with the four and 5-star pity system in Genshin Impact because it contributes to this. Fans are talking about how banner four-stars are not guaranteed, although it is intended to assure players obtain a four-star character or item every ten pulls. You need to pull roughly 100 times to achieve a five-star consistency. But you might need more than the four-star you desired.

Players from Genshin Impact are upset with the 4-star pity pull method

Players vented their anger on Reddit about the arguably poor design choice. Users shared their personal experiences with the pity system in an online post that went popular and served to start a discussion about it. Also, according to the original poster, the system was a “terrible design decision,” adding that it had “afflicted a few friends of mine as well and caused one to quit.” Over 100 tries, according to the player, should ensure the appearance of any featured supporting character.

Quickly following, more players joined in, expressing dissatisfaction with the system. One user claimed they “needed 172 pulls for one Gorou,” adding that they were fortunate to receive Kaveh after 48 pulls while their spouse regrettably “didn’t get a single one.” Another fan said they spent over 200 pulls trying to get Kaveh but could not “get a single copy.” Other players offered suggestions for more effective systems. One said of developer miHoYo, “What they COULD do is have a ‘pick your 4-star’ event in regions other than Liyue.”

Players would ideally like to see the gacha system eliminated and just be able to choose which four-star they get, similar to how the weapon banners operate. Unfortunately, it is doubtful that the pull system will change.
