When it comes to continuing to play Fortnite on their respective devices, Apple and Google Play now, have to fight with an increased number of restrictions.
Customers on iOS and Google Play have not been provided with a new Fortnite update since the game’s withdrawal from these marketplaces in August 2020. This is because Epic is now engaged in legal issues with both Apple and Google.
Fans of Fortnite who continue to play the game on mobile devices have, as a result, missed out on everything, from the game’s Marvel-themed season to the brand-new Island that went live in December of the previous year. In addition, the most recent announcement from Epic Games reveals that additional restrictions on the older build will be implemented very soon.
Due To Recently Implemented Restrictions, Fortnite Mobile Will Only Be Available to Adults
Users of the Fortnite program currently operating on the 13.40 version and continuing to use it after January 30 will be in for an unpleasant shock. Users on iOS, Mac, and Google Play will be impacted by this change.
After that day, players will no longer be able to exchange their V-Bucks for anything, and in order to participate in the battle royale mode, they will need to be at least 18 years old.
Epic Games has provided this information to the community by way of a message on the Twitter feed devoted to the Fortnite Status. In a following tweet, the publisher of Fortnite explained the upcoming changes by claiming that they were necessary due to “Apple and Google’s restrictions.” The full statement is as follows, which is how it should be read:
Although more limits will surely be a burden for players who may not have any other means of accessing Fortnite, there is always a possibility that all is not yet lost. Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, suggested in a tweet that Fortnite may make a full comeback to iOS in 2023. The tweet was released on the eve of the new year.
However, much is left to the reader’s interpretation due to the obtuse nature of the post, and since it was published, anything at all is possible. As a result of this, probably, the current state of Fortnite on devices made by Apple and Google will continue to deteriorate for the foreseeable future.
