TSM Blocks Snip3down’s Substitute Appearance in ALGS Split 1 Playoffs
Eric “Snip3down” Wrona could not take part in the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs as an emergency substitution for another team, as stated by the player. This was a decision made by TSM.
Because Team Solo Mid had already decided to utilize Snip3down as their replacement for the competition, the organization did not allow him to compete for another team in the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs. The competition has been hampered by visa issues, which has led to several units being forced to deploy substitutes or withdraw entirely from the competition. As a result of these issues, the competition has been hampered.
Snip3down has been making his comeback to the world of Apex Legends esports by participating in FaZe Clan. However, because his team could not meet the requirements necessary to participate in the competition, TSM decided to sign him up as a substitute if one of its players tested positive for a prohibited substance.
TSM prevents Snip3down from playing on another team as a substitute
The FaZe player made the revelation on Twitter, claiming TSM had advised him that he was not allowed to sub for another team. He said that the instruction had been given to him by TSM.
According to Snip3down, “I’m not going to criticize them for this, as ultimately it’s their decision. I just wanted to mention it because it was a really cool experience to play over a local area network (LAN).”
He clarified that despite this, TSM still wanted him to be a part of the squad only in case one of their players could not participate. He explained this was the case because TSM wanted a backup plan.
The veteran esports competitor left Apex Legends in 2021 to pursue a career in Halo Infinite, but they returned to the battle royale game in October of 2022. Since returning to Apex Legends, Snip3down has significantly contributed to FaZe Clan’s finish in the top 20 North American ALGS 2022 Split 1 Pro League. Since the player returned to the game, he has participated in thirteen different events with the FaZe Clan.
The ALGS major tournament will begin on February 2 and continue through February 5. It will include competition amongst some of the best teams from around the world with the opportunity to earn the top prize of $300,000.
