Jimmy ‘Marved’ Nguyen, a substitute player, will play for the Sentinels during VCT Americas Week 4 instead of Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo, the team stated in a video that introduced the team’s new head coach. The video also introduced the new head coach. TenZ, who plays for the Sentinels, will miss the upcoming VCT Americas super week since he is dealing with a finger injury and a positive test result. This is just one of the many future changes for the club. Marved, a former player for OpTic Gaming who is now a substitute for the Sentinels, will play in his place.
After Sentinels parted ways with Donald ‘SyykoNT’ Muir following the conclusion of Week 3 of the VCT Americas, the organization published a video in which it introduced its new head coach, Adam ‘Kaplan’ Kaplan. ‘Kaplan’ is an abbreviation for the player’s name. In that video, Kaplan revealed that TenZ would be resting and not competing during Week 4 of the tournament.
“I hear that our boy TenZ isn’t feeling too hot… We are going to give him a week off to relax and take it easy. To our good fortune, we have a world champion as a substitute. We are going to bring Marved in, and we are going to practice with him this week, and then we are going to play our great week of matches with him.” Kaplan stated.
In Week 4, the Sentinels will be using Marved instead of TenZ
TenZ has been suffering with more than just an injured finger as a result of the team’s deficient performance, as supporters have expressed their disgust with his performances, to the point where his fiancée has appealed for empathy for the player. The terrible performance of the squad has also resulted in TenZ’s finger becoming damaged.
The change does not surprise anyone because there have been rumors flying around about the Sentinels making a switch ever since Week 2. George Geddes laid to rest the suspicions by disclosing that Marved, a Canadian resident, had not yet acquired a visa to compete in the league. This information put an end to the speculation.
Marved seems to have obtained his visa and now qualifies to compete. He most recently participated in a competitive Valorant game in the Open Qualifiers for the North American Challengers League with the streamer team Untamable Beasts. Marved was a member of OpTic Gaming in 2022 and won Masters Reykjavik. He also placed in the top three at Masters Copenhagen and came in second place at Valorant Champions.
In VCT Americas Week 4, Sentinels are scheduled to compete against both LOUD and MIBR. The first of these matches are scheduled to take place on April 21.
