Former OpTic Gaming Player Marved Joins Sentinels as Sixth Man Amidst SicK’s Suspension

After the worldwide ban and arrest of the team’s sixth man, Hunter ‘SicK’ Mims, Sentinels have completed the signing of former OpTic Gaming Valorant player Jimmy ‘Marved’ Nguyen. Jimmy will be playing for Sentinels as a member of the Valorant.

Following the conclusion of the 2022 VCT season, Marved decided to take a sabbatical from competing, and this announcement signals his return to participation after that break. After a grueling season, the former star player for OpTic Gaming chose to relax in Canada rather than join another team after the dissolution of his previous squad. He did not sign with any other company. Also, Marved was an integral member of OpTic’s successful run in the 2022 VCT, which saw the team win the VCT Masters Reykjavik tournament, place in the top three at the VCT Masters Copenhagen tournament, and win the Valorant Champions tournament.

After competing in two content creator tournaments before the end of 2022 (FaZe Smeag All-Star Weekend and The Lil Bro Cup), he joined forces with former Sentinels teammates Jay “Sinatra” Won and Jared “zombies” Gitlin to form a team called Untamable Beasts and compete in the qualifiers for the VCT NA Challengers league.

The Sentinels bring in Marved for the Valorant squad

Following the internal suspension of the team’s sixth man, SicK, who was arrested on March 4 for criminal trespassing and is still being held in a Collin County jail in Dallas, Texas, as of the publication of this article, Sentinels are bringing in the former player from OpTic Gaming. This comes after SicK was arrested on March 4 for criminal trespassing.

On March 8, Sentinels CEO Rob Moore revealed that the team would be trying to sign a new sixth man to replace SicK while he finishes his suspension. SicK was suspended for his role in the team’s match-fixing scandal. Since May of 2022, SicK has not competed for the team in any games.

The last time anyone saw Sentinels, they competed in the first round of the VCT LOCK/IN tournament when Fnatic eliminated them. The team is scheduled to return to VCT play on April 1, the same day that the Americas league will begin play. Also, on the new company’s first day, the team will compete against 100 Thieves.
