Dashy Rejoins the OpTic Texas Roster After Scump’s Retirement

Only a few weeks after Seth “Scump” Abner was benched in favor of Cuyler “Huke” Garland, Brandon “Dashy” Otell is now Seth’s replacement in OpTic Texas’ CDL starting lineup. Scump announced his early retirement from competitive Call of Duty just as it appeared the OpTic Texas roster issue was coming to an end, which made room for Dashy to rejoin the team.

The team had been the subject of rumors and leaks for weeks prior to Scump’s departure as they worked to organize their lineup. The team resorted to Huke to complete the lineup after failing to persuade Arcitys or Pred to leave their respective orgs, and the split between Dashy and the squad that followed was on show for all to see.

Two weeks before CDL Major 2, the Greenwall-backed roster resolves everything and must now get things in order following a tearful farewell from Call of Duty’s “King.

Scump Leaves OpTic Texas, Dashy Returns

Scump revealed the decision in his retirement video and wished his old teammates and coaches well for the remainder of the campaign.

He said, “Bringing Brandon back makes sense. Life is too short to harbor resentments or be angry with one another, so I hope he takes advantage of this chance to be a good colleague. I’m going to be on your ***, Brandon. I hope you take advantage of this opportunity wisely since I’m about to fall so you may go up.

In response to the video, Dashy said he would do everything in his power to make this worthwhile for one of his “favorite” colleagues. I only hope to make you proud on the outside, my brother, for everything you’ve done for me over the years.

This implies that Dashy, Huke, iLLeY, and Shottzy will make up OpTic Texas’ starting lineup for the remainder of the Major 2 cycle. Although they defeated Boston Breach 3-2 in the opening weekend of qualifying matches, the club will undoubtedly need to readjust with the new lineup before facing Seattle Surge on January 20.
