Ilya ‘Perfecto’ Zalutskiy and Denis ‘electroNic’ Sharipov, formerly of NAVI, have joined Cloud9’s CS:GO roster after the organization announced their signing. Perfecto and electroNic, once of NAVI, were recruited by Cloud9 after the organization announced. Perfecto, electroNic, Abai ‘HObbit’ Hasenov, Dmitriy’sh1ro’ Sokolov, and Sergey ‘Ax1Le’ Rykhtorov were named as the members of the CS:GO squad’s starting lineup, while Konstantin ‘groove’ Pikiner was named as the team’s head coach. The roster for the team was announced in a post on Twitter.
This implies that the two players formerly known as NAVI will take the starting positions on the Cloud9 squad vacated by Vladislav ‘Nafany’ Gorshkov and Timur ‘Buster’ Tulepov. Electronic is expected to take up the IGL responsibilities formerly held by Nafany, while Perfecto will likely maintain his supportive role.
Cloud9 has added two new players to their roster for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
This news comes only two weeks after NAVI revealed their revamped roster for the remainder of the 2023 season, which included the removal of both Perfeto and electroNic from the active player pool.
Both teams are putting together lineups packed with stars in preparation for the transition from CS:GO to CS2 sometime over the summer. Valve has yet to disclose the date that will be officially announced for when CS2 will be released or when the sport will transfer over to the new title. The year 2023 has yet to be Cloud9’s most successful year thus. The squad got off to a strong start by coming in second place in the ESL Pro League and first place at the BLAST Premier: Spring European Showdown. However, except for those competitions, the squad has yet to make much of a mark in top-tier competitions.
The organization hopes that the two former NAVI players will strengthen their team for the second half of the year. Perfecto and electroNic finished second in the PGL Antwerp Major in 2022. However, they did win the PGL Stockholm Major in 2021 with their team NAVI. In 2023, the pair assisted NAVI in reaching the top four at the International Electronic Sports Tournament in Rio and the top twelve in the BLAST Paris Major.
