Since Shrines played such a significant role in Breath of the Wild, many Zelda fans are curious whether they will appear in Tears of the Kingdom. The information you require is available in our convenient hub.
Shrines, dungeon-style puzzles that offered more Heart Pieces and improvements for Link’s stamina wheel to players who solved them, were a significant part of Breath of the Wild. Shrines have been widely disputed in the run-up to the game’s release since some fans have been clamoring for their return while others believe they’ll be eliminated in the sequel. So, if you’re wondering if Shrines are present in Tears of the Kingdom, here’s what we currently know.
In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, will Shrines be back?
Whether Shrines will appear in Tears of the Kingdom is a question that Nintendo still needs to answer. Shrines played a significant role in Breath of the Wild, allowing Link to gather Spirit Orbs, which he could then utilize to collect heart pieces and fill his stamina meter.
The link also received Runes from the Great Plateau Shrines, unique powers that work with the Sheikah Slate. Shrines have not yet been seen in the Tears of Kingdom gameplay or images, but they may appear again in some capacity. After all, Link’s health and energy can be improved by solving puzzles and taking on other tasks. Tears of the Kingdom require you to acquire all the additional powers.
In addition, during the most recent Tears of the Kingdom gameplay presentation, one Reddit member noticed what looks to be the Shrine Icon. The Shrine Icon is easily visible on the map when Link runs around one of the Sky Islands. While there is no guarantee that Shrines will return, this suggests that they might do so in some form. Of course, Temples might be found on the Sky Islands scattered above Hyrule. After all, Link uses Recall and Ultrahand to get to the Sky Islands, which is a challenge in and of itself.
