The New Game+ for God of War: Ragnarok Has Arrived
Sony Santa Monica has confirmed that the highly lauded God of War: Ragnarok will include a New Game+ feature.
Fans of God of War: Ragnarok will have to wait until next year to check out the game’s New Game+ option. One of the highest-rated games of the year and winner of an astounding six prizes at The Game Awards 2022, God of War Ragnarok was released last month to universal critical acclaim. Despite completing the main objective and all of the optional ones in God of War: Ragnarok, many players still may not be ready to say goodbye to Kratos and his newest escapade.
While New Game+ has always been a staple of the God of War series, it was noticeably absent from the 2018 installment. Sony Santa Monica added New Game+ to the 2018 God of War game with a free post-launch upgrade. This led many God of War fans to speculate that Ragnarok will also include a New Game+ feature, although this was only confirmed recently.
A new game plus update for God of War: Ragnarok will be released in the spring of 2023, as revealed by Sony Santa Monica Studio. At this moment, more information about God of War Ragnarok New Game+ is not yet available. It’s likely that players will be able to re-play the game on the same difficulty with all of their equipment and improvements still in place, and it would be awesome if they could also increase the challenge level.
The extreme Give Me God of War mode is only one of many tiers of challenge available to players in God of War Ragnarok. More players should be able to complete the game on the toughest level if New Game Plus in God of War Ragnarok enables them to switch between difficulties. Some games don’t let you play New Game+ on multiple difficulties, but as God of War Ragnarok presently allows players change difficulties whenever they’d like, it’s unlikely that this will be the case in the future.
Though 2019 will provide more details about the New Game+ mode for God of War: Ragnarok, many players will be satisfied with the certainty that it is on the road. That way, they’ll have a good reason to go through God of War: Ragnarok again.
