Sentinels’ TenZ Expresses Realistic Expectations for VCT Americas Playoffs after Victory

Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo, who plays for Sentinels, gave a post-match interview after the team’s victory against KRÜ Esports while using a roster that did not include Rory ‘depth’ Jackson. In the interview, he discussed how the group sees its prospects of qualifying for the VCT Americas playoffs.

In the seventh week of the Valorant VCT Americas, Sentinels played against KRÜ and were victorious, 2-0, to improve their league record to 3-5. Even if they were to win against FURIA on May 18, they would face an uphill struggle to make it into the postseason and would depend on other teams’ outcomes to slip into the next phase and maybe qualify for VCT Masters Japan.

After their victory over the Chilean squad, TenZ gave an interview after the match in which he stated that the team was going to give their best effort and prepare as much as they could for the final game against FURIA. Nevertheless, he made notice of the fact that the team had reasonable expectations. We are not planning on participating in the postseason, but if it occurs, it will happen. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t,” TenZ stated.

Sentinels have a positive but realistic stance on their chances of making the VCT Americas playoffs

During the initial split of VCT Americas, the Sentinels were subjected to a great deal of conflict inside their ranks. In addition to dealing with health difficulties, the team has had to adjust to multiple coaching and player personnel changes. After suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Evil Geniuses, Sentinels decided to part ways with dephh and bring in Jimmy ‘Marved’ Nguyen as their new IGL. Currently, Sentinels are playing with Jimmy ‘Marved’ Nguyen in this role.

The players have also had to contend with greater scrutiny from fans, to the point that TenZ’s fiancée, Kyedae ‘Kyedae’ Shymko, urged the community to show some empathy for the players. In spite of those failures, the team has managed to put together a respectable record, with a score of 3-5 going into the last week of matches. Because there are so many teams in the center of the VCT Americas table with four wins, the final three positions in the playoff stage are technically still up for grabs. This is because of the many teams in the middle of the table.
