Players believe this quality-of-life feature arrived “way too late” to be viable, even though Niantic has added a new Raid feature that shows how many people are in a lobby from the overworld. On April 21, users started to notice a change in the user interface (UI) when looking at Raid Gyms on the overworld map of Pokemon Go. The players could see a new icon that displayed the number of players currently waiting in the lobby for the battle to begin instead of the traditional countdown timer.
When it was first released online, this new feature received a lot of positive feedback. A lot of players enjoy raiding in person, but it can be challenging to discover raids in which other players are taking part. Because of this, it is much simpler to locate active Raiders and join the fight against them. However, a large number of players need more convincing by the concept, and quite a few of them argue that the function was added much too late.
It’s possible that the Pokemon Go raid lobby functionality arrived too late
Peepingvaleya, a user, made a post that was shared on the Pokemon Go subreddit. In the post, they made a joke about Niantic finally being able to afford the update because they raised the pricing of Remote Raid. Users who posted comments, on the other hand, weren’t as playful in their criticisms of the article.
The fact that users can now see how many surrounding gyms have “0 people raiding at any given time of day” has prompted a number of gamers to express their dissatisfaction with the update. A user gave the following feedback: “Cool, now I can see 0 f*cking people at every raid near me even faster.” Please accept our thanks, Niantic.”
Another person tried to give Niantic appreciation for the update, but simultaneously, they brought out something they believed to be a bug. “I suggest you go with this… But how in the world am I going to get to a gym that is a map’s length away in just two minutes? The vast majority of gamers, however, have voiced their disapproval over the update’s release date, claiming that it came out “way too late” and that it could have been more successful if Niantic had not weakened Remote Raid Passes.
