Pokemon Go Players Advocate for Significant Raid Changes to Align with Game’s Evolving State

Pokemon Go players seek some significant Raid changes to “accommodate the state of the game” in light of recent adjustments. In the past several months, Pokemon Go has undergone a number of significant modifications, the most notable of which is the significant nerf to Remote Raid Passes.

Raid attendance is said to have decreased due to this modification because players could no longer easily engage in Raids without being present in person. To better represent the changes made to Pokemon Go and, by extension, the game’s community, users are now pushing for a significant Raid revamp.

Pokemon Go players desire significant Raid adjustments

A conversation among the community was initiated by a post on TheSilphRoad subreddit with the headline, “Raids need reworking to accommodate the state of the game now that the peak has long since passed.” The OP began the thread by saying, “I understand the sentiment of the devs wanting people back out in the world, playing the game in person, and for legendary Pokemon to be rare.” Unfortunately, they found two significant issues that have altered how raids work today. The first issue, according to them, is that “players have no choice but to do lots of raids” if they hope to have a chance of finishing them.

Their next issue was that “raids were built for the community when it was at its peak” and no longer “reflect the reality of the current player base.” They provide two options to address this issue: introducing Scalable Raid Bosses and altering the factors restricting players’ time during a Raid event. The locals were generally open to these ideas and even offered their interpretations of some beneficial adjustments. “The timer should start counting up instead of down. Rewards could be adjusted according to how long it takes to finish the Raid. Because of this, solitary players could take down the boss without the difficulty being lowered.

Solution 3: Establish global lobby areas you can reach from a gym, suggested another admirer. So long as someone is at a gym, they can participate in the Raid. This would effectively result in creating a real-world hub where people from around the world could arrange matches in-game. Of course, it would be simpler to say than do to put many of these reforms into practice. The community is of the opinion that Niantic should change the Pokemon Go environment in 2023.
