NICKMERCS to Host Unique CDL Champs Watch Party with Activision’s Support

The CDL watch party that NICKMERCS is organizing is similar to others other content providers have hosted in the past, but it has a unique twist. Activision started allowing a select few users to co-stream league matches on Twitch beginning in January, during the CDL Major 2 tournament. It was a fortunate coincidence that esports great Seth “Scump” retired around the same time, which made the chance all the more attractive.

The first watch party hosted by Scump reached a peak of about 95,000 spectators. Over 333,000 people watched the CDL Major 3 across mainstream and additional co-streams, making it the most-watched event in the history of the league, which began in 2020. The momentum kept building as the event progressed. Watch parties have been a driving driver behind growing CDL Viewership. Activision caught another big fish for its most significant event of the year with the Call of Duty Championship.

NICKMERCS has announced they will host a watch party for the CDL Champs

NICKMERCS returned to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 and became the first streamer in the franchise’s history to obtain an operator skin. This happened after he spent most of his time competing professionally in Apex Legends.

NICKMERCS disclosed the news during a WZ2 life, stating that Activision compensated him to throw a viewing party for CDL Champs. Although watch parties have been around for a while, this is the first time a content creator has admitted publicly that Activison has compensated them for hosting a stream of one of their games. “Call of Duty is paying me to do a CDL watch party of the championship, so we are going to fuc*ing do it.” “Call of Duty is paying me to do a CDL watch party of the championship.”

Nick, a member of the FaZe clan, confessed that he is rooting against the LA Thieves and hopes that the Atlanta FaZe team does well in the competition. He also said that he is pulling against the LA FaZe team. NICKMERCS was a former associate of the 100 Thieves, but he left the group after getting into a public argument with Nadeshot, the organization’s owner.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that FaZe Clan will make it to the championship. In this way, it will be heated, and I’m sincerely hoping that the Thieves won’t partake in it. Between June 15 and 18, Las Vegas will play host to the weekend of the Call of Duty League Championship. On both YouTube and Twitch, viewers will be able to watch every battle.
