Some Overwatch 2 fans are worried that it might be half a decade before every Hero receives a Mythic after assessing the timetable for Mythic skins. Every Hero in the game has a variety of skins to pick from, as any fan of Overwatch who has played the game knows, giving each player a little bit of individual individuality and flair.
Of course, Mythic Skins are the best for these skins; at the time of writing, they are only offered for Genji, Junker Queen, and Kiriko. Some Overwatch 2 players have begun to worry about how long it would take their favorite Hero to receive the Mythic skin treatment after estimating the interval between releases for new Mythic skins.
Overwatch two fans anxious about the release date of Mythic skin
I just realized how long it’d take for every character to acquire a mythic skin,” one user wrote in a post on the Overwatch subreddit, which caused the discussion to gain popularity among the community. To avoid having Widowmaker be the last of the game’s 37 characters to receive a Mythic skin, the OP said that they couldn’t wait for Widowmaker to receive one ultimately. They pondered how long it might take, in theory, for every character who is currently in the game to get a Mythic skin.
“There would be 37 characters if there were a new season every two months, which would equal 74 months or six years… The Overwatch 2 fan wrote, “Imagine waiting 6 YEARS for your principal to obtain a Mythic skin, not to mention all the additional characters who’ll also need a Mythic. In the comments, other gamers expressed a similar concern and even predicted that the timescale might be generous. One participant speculated, “Based on my experience with things like this, they will probably loop back around and give a second to someone before every character gets one.”
They suggested that Blizzard might create “Mythic weapons” or something similar, potentially prolonging the wait even more. Some players compared this to the heirloom releases in Apex Legends, which have established a regular tradition throughout the game’s 17 seasons of battle royale. But this is just conjecture; Overwatch 2 fans may have to wait until their favorite Hero gets their unique cosmetic if the anticipated timetable from the other three Mythic skins that have already been released holds.
