League of Legends Patch 13.5: Significant Changes to Yuumi, Azir, and Gangplank

Although patch 13.5 for League of Legends is smaller than many recent patches, it still contains many improvements to some of the game’s most well-liked Legends and runes.

Although it isn’t as substantial as the recent large-scale balance updates, patch 13.5 still contains a number of changes that will impact practically every lane in the game. There are some significant nerfs coming, changes to Triumph and Grip of the Undying and the Yuumi overhaul, and some significant nerfs to Gangplank’s barrels.

Yuumi-related patches are always contentious, and patch 13.5 for League of Legends will be the same. She receives a new Friendship passive that rewards her for concentrating on a specific friend. Her kit now places a renewed emphasis on healing and shielding rather than sheer damage amplification Moreover, Azir and Gangplank are also receiving adjustments that will alter their degree of power in the current meta. Thus this patch will have an impact on players of all levels.

This patch won’t go live for a time, and it’s still unknown whether Riot will resume its previous patching schedule after a few releases were postponed due to Riot Games’ cyberattack. In contrast, we’ll update this in the days before the official release. Our notes for League of Legends patch 13.5 are listed below. Remember that when they spend time on the PBE, these could change:

Champions

Yuumi revision

Yuumi is undergoing a complete overhaul. She has a very similar playstyle despite having all of her abilities changed, and she has crucially retained her capacity to stick with allies while remaining unforgettable. It’s difficult to predict if she will immediately revert to her meta state after the adjustments.

Azir

A ton of changes are coming to Azir, many of which are nerfs but others of which are significant benefits. You can view Phreak’s whole video on these adjustments below for more information on their reasoning and an explanation of the numerical values.
