In Overwatch 2, there are four separate currencies that may be used to purchase cosmetics, with Competitive Points being the most exclusive (CP). Only golden weapons in the game that are special to this currency can be unlocked.
The other three currencies that players can spend to open up additional items and cosmetics are Overwatch Coins, League Tokens, and Legacy Credits. Having said that, playing competitive game modes is the only way to obtain Competitive Points, a unique currency.
How to get Competitive Points and employ them in Overwatch 2 is described in this article.
Overwatch 2 Earning and Using Competitive Points
Only a few methods in the game allow players to earn Competitive Points, including:
- Only competitive game modes for Role Que or Open Que can be won or drawn to provide Competitive Points.
- One must be aware that the Overwatch competitive system awards players with Competitive Points for winning matches and slightly fewer for ties.
- You won’t get any competitive points if you fall short.
In Overwatch 2, winning a competitive match awards players with 15 CP, whereas a tie only grants 5 CP.
The amount of CP that each rank receives at the conclusion of a competitive season is listed below:
- Bronze: 65 CPSilver: 125 CP
- Gold: 250 CP
- Platinum: 500 CP
- Diamond: 750 CP
- Master: 1,200 CP
- Grandmaster: 1,750 CP
As Overwatch 2 requires a fresh account to win at least 50 unranked matches in order to unlock competitive queues, new players may find it challenging to earn CP. The Competitive Mode may be unlocked through Quick Play, and once it is, players can earn CP and spend it to buy premium golden weapon skins.
Unlock Golden Weapons in Overwatch 2 with Competitive Points
3000 Competitive Points are required to unlock a single Golden Gun. Players can obtain their desired golden weapon by taking the following actions once they have accumulated enough CP:
Go to the Heros Gallery, choose the desired Hero for whom you want the Golden Gun, then select a weapon from their menu and scroll until you find the Golden Gun for that weapon. Use the necessary CP to buy the Golden Gun for that weapon, and once it has been unlocked, you can choose the skin and use the Golden weapon in matches.
If a player accumulates enough Competitive Points, they can all obtain the Golden Gun of their choice. Be aware that it could take some time to unlock all of the game’s similar weapons.
In Overwatch 2, there is no other way to unlock Golden Guns besides through the use of Competitive Points. It is also highly improbable that Blizzard would add other ways for players to obtain golden weapon skins.
