Gamers Complain Over the New Trainee Box in Pokemon Go’s Item Shop

The item shop in Pokemon Go has been updated to include a Trainee Box, and gamers are complaining that the deal is so awful that it’s like they’re buying “less inventory space.” Players of Pokemon Go have a love-hate relationship with the bundle boxes that can be purchased via the game’s in-app item shop. There are times when they provide offers on premium equipment that trainers cannot pass up, but there are also instances when players have the impression that the boxes and the price tags on them are a joke.

There have been moments when Pokemon Go has offered fantastic deals, but they have been limited to only a few users. This has led some players to believe that Niantic is “trolling” them because of the quality of a particular package. Players of Pokemon Go continue to have faith that the game’s item boxes will one day live up to their full potential, despite the fact that their worth has been steadily falling over the past year or so. On the other hand, this is not the case for the newly spotted Trainee Boxes on April 24.

The Pokemon Go Trainee box has been described as the “worst so far.”

Players can purchase the Trainee Box for a stunning 375 coins, equivalent to protecting a gym for eight days. This pack includes 125 Pokeballs and two Silver Pinap Berries for your convenience. Although this is a reduction given that it costs 460 coins to purchase 100 Pokeballs, users were shocked when they saw the price tag. Because of this, users OUTheMovie and Xhaszeqq posted screenshots to the groups that they frequent on Reddit. The latter said, “Nah, bro, how is this almost 400 coins.” The comments reveal that many other trainers are similarly stunned by the news. One user joked, “Yes, exactly what I’ve been looking for all along, less space to store inventory.” Someone else asked, “Is anybody interested in this net 375 coin loss?”

Others have mentioned how the contents of the Trainee Box effectively compensate for the number of Pokeballs and Berries that users need to discard in order to make space for premium items. “To make room, I throw away well over a hundred Pokeballs every day. If I wanted them, all I would have to do was spin the roulette wheel a few times. I would never in my life spend money on something like that.

There were also trainers who mentioned that as a result of the recent price increase for Remote Raid Passes, the box was worth almost as much as two passes. It would appear that users are more likely to purchase the more expensive Remote Raid Passes than they are the Trainee boxes offered by Pokemon Go.
