Blizzard transforms French church into Diablo 4 cathedral with murals

The release date of Diablo 4 has been set for March 17, 2023. In the time leading up to the game’s launch, the developer Blizzard has been getting very creative with marketing their new title by making a whole Cathedral with murals inspired by the game. The game will be available for purchase on March 17, 2023.

The most recent phase in the marketing campaign for Diablo 4 is the refurbishment and decoration of a French church with artwork and paintings inspired by the video game. According to Blizzard, the building has been deconsecrated, meaning it is no longer considered an official sacred site, and the firm has been granted authority to do so. They were unable to paint the Diablo 4 murals directly onto the church because it is still on the National Register of Historic Places and hence cannot be altered.

Instead, Blizzard painted “the five character classes from Diablo 4 as they struggle with the powers of evil” on canvases, which were then mounted all over the walls of the cathedral. These canvases were painted first on canvas, and then they were installed. The cathedral’s ceiling, dome, and back wall each have a canvas painting that is one of twenty created and hung there.

Revamped Chapelle des Jésuites Showcased in New Diablo 4 Trailer

The Chapelle des Jésuites underwent a comprehensive renovation, and a brand-new live-action trailer for Diablo 4 highlights the remarkable results of this endeavor. For those who are interested, the promotional video can be seen at the following link:

The project required the creation of a total of twenty paintings, with each one contributing to the creation of a mural that measured 160 feet in length and took thirty days to complete. A group met them with artist Adam Miller serving as the team leader. Miller remarked that “the enormity and the speed of it appeared a bit wild.”

This is not the first publicity gimmick that Blizzard Entertainment has performed in recent months in order to drum up excitement for the release of Diablo 4. During the event held in Milan, the game firm revealed its partnership with the clothing designer Han Kjbenhavn. During the event, numerous Diablo-themed clothes took center stage for the first time.
