Apex Legends Twitch Broadcaster iiTzTimmy Secures LAN Qualification for ALGS Championship

Timothy “iiTzTimmy” An, a Twitch broadcaster who plays Apex Legends, qualified for his first LAN tournament after winning a slot at the ALGS Championship via the NA LCQ. Recently concluded regional Last Change Qualifiers for the forthcoming ALGS Championship saw several surprises from amateur esports teams winning out over different signed players. The NA LCQ was the same.

FURIA Esports is expected to be in the mix competing after narrowly missing out on the ALGS Split 1 playoff and finishing last at the Split 2 playoffs. Despite their past, they were the favorites to earn a spot in the ALGS Championship. However, the two teams primarily consisted of amateur and unsigned players who won the NA LCQ. One of those teams, in particular, saw Apex Legends superstar iiTztimmy qualify for the LAN competition.

iiTzTimmy, Tyler “Dezignful” Gardner, and Alexander “Enemy” Rodriguez make up the team The Dojo. Together, this trio persevered through the Challenger Circuit to earn a spot in the LCQ.  They continuously excelled throughout the LCQ, earning second place in their division in the first round of the winner’s bracket. They defeated FURIA in the second round, winning with three victories, a second, and a fourth-place finish.

It got off to a rocky start into the Finals with a 15th-place finish. But by the end of the fifth round, they were Match Point Eligible due to a streak of victories in the second, fifth, and third places. And The Dojo succeeded in round six following a thrilling match. With 73 match points and the LCQ victory, the trio came out on top, finishing 10 points ahead of Dudes Night Out, who came in second.

“F*** it, we did it! We’re going to LAN because we f***ing won!” Following his qualification for the ALGS Championship, iiTzTimmy tweeted. “The boys Dezignful and Enemy are crazy! F*** the critics, and most importantly, thanks to everyone who believed in me. Along with 39 other teams, iiTzTimmy’s squad, The Dojo, will visit the UK in September for the $2 million Championship finals competition. The tournament’s favorite, FURIA, was third in the LCQ.
