Apex Legends Announces Global Price Adjustment for Apex Coins to Ensure Currency Parity

The developers of Apex Legends have stated that the price of Apex Coins will be modified in certain countries to maintain price parity across all currencies. Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game, and the majority of the game’s revenue comes from in-game transactions involving the purchase of cosmetic skins for items such as Legends and weapons.

Players can acquire some of these cosmetics simply by playing the game and opening Apex Packs; however, they are also available in-game with Apex Coins and may be bought via the in-game store. Now, Apex Legends has announced that the values of Apex Coins worldwide will be altered depending on the territory. This is being done to better adjust the balance among all currencies.

Apex Legends is going to change the prices of Apex Coins

The statements were made in a blog post officially published on EA’s website and headlined “Global Price Adjustment Update.” The message aimed to provide players with advance notice of “some price changes that will take effect from June 1, 2023.”

It would appear that currencies such as the US Dollar, the Euro, the Japanese Yen, the Hong Kong Dollar, the Indian Rupee, the United Arab Emirates Dirham, and the Vietnamese Dong will not experience any changes on June 1. However, countries outside those regions may experience a rise or drop depending on the currency.

Notably, the British pound and the Canadian dollar were not mentioned in the blog article; hence, it is possible that these two main currencies will undergo some price adjustment after June 1 arrives. When this article was written, it was unknown whether regions may experience a price rise or decrease; however, the most recent update states that this modification will “only impact real money transactions for the purchase of Apex Coins.” The good news is that this indicates no change in the amount of money required to obtain in-game cosmetics.

The blog post also referenced the forthcoming Threat Level event, which would take place from May 23, 2023, to June 6, 2023, and it urged players who intend to buy Apex Coins for the event to do so by June 1, 2 AM Pacific Time.
