All You Need to Know About Tekken 8: Plot, Characters, Release Date, and Platforms

Fans have gradually been given new information about Tekken 8’s plot and the cast of characters. The last time we learned the game’s release date was its debut teaser at EVO 2022. But for all that we currently know, refer to this manual.

The most recent installment of the legendary fighting game series will be Tekken 8. Kazuya Mishima was briefly shown in a teaser trailer for EVO 2022, but nothing else. After watching a spectacular video at the Sony State of Play event on September 13, we finally got to see a fight between Jin and his evil father, Kazuya Mishima, showcasing what the game might look like.

The cinematic trailer for Tekken 8 that was released during The Game Awards 2022 gave us a glance into the plot. Here is what we currently know about Tekken 8, the franchise’s upcoming installment, as interest in it grows.

When will Tekken 8 be released?

Regrettably, no. We still need an official release date for Tekken 8, even though the State of Play and The Game Awards teasers give us much more to look at than the EVO teaser.

However, according to a recent report from Insider Gaming, players can anticipate the newest Tekken installment to arrive in 2023. At a recent investor conference, developer Bandai Namco alluded to Tekken 8’s early 2023 release time. “We have a lot of projects in the works. In addition, Tekken 8 has a target release date of fiscal 2023 or later.

The trailer has only revealed that we should “keep tuned” for further information. Considering the game’s title drop, it’s more than what we learned from the EVO trailer, but not much else was revealed.

What systems will Tekken 8 be available on?

Tekken 8 will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, it has been confirmed.

The makers of Tekken 8 have stated that they are “Pushing the sensation of power in battles continuously further by harnessing the potential of the newest generation of consoles,” therefore it is unlikely that they would release a version of the game for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Tekken 8 Character Roster

Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima were the first two characters to be revealed in the initial Tekken 8 trailer. Furthermore, while Devil Jin is distinct from regular Jin in Tekken 7, there needs to be a reason to anticipate that this will be the case in Tekken 8.

Paul Phoenix, Nina Williams, Martial Law, Jun Kazama, Jack-8, King, and Lars have all appeared alongside the Mishima brothers.

Teaser for Tekken 8

At EVO 2022, a teaser trailer for Tekken 8 was released. It was a brief teaser that featured images from the original Tekken game and harkened back to simpler times.

Since this is a film from the teaser’s presentation at EVO, you can hear the audience roar when they see this updated Kazuya, who is a definite improvement over his Tekken 7 character model. After this Tekken teaser, we would see a full trailer for the upcoming Tekken game, which made it clear that it would be the series’ next significant installment.

This video game trailer is real-time, 60 frames per second, unlike many pre-rendered others. But changes could be made before the document is published.

The battle between the father and son opponents took place when some well-known gaming mechanisms were in use. The trailer included electric attacks and slow-motion finishers. On December 9, 2022, Tekken 8 published a teaser trailer that featured the game’s narrative and some eye-catching gameplay animations and combos.

The keynote for Tekken 8 then started. Kohei Ikeda and legendary Tekken creator Harada unveiled new gameplay elements for Tekken 8 while seated side by side.

The brand-new Heat System and all the moves that go along with it, a redesigned Rage system, Guard damage, and other quality-of-life enhancements that set Tekken 8 apart from its predecessors were some of these.

Along with her character reveal, Nina Williams received a gameplay trailer showcasing her moveset. She is the newest cast member and is making a comeback as a character in every game in the series.
