A Moment of Celebration: Destiny 2 Servers Maintain Stability for Over a Week

The servers for Destiny 2 have been steady for more than a week without significant service interruptions, which hasn’t happened in a while. The neighborhood was overjoyed and couldn’t help but rejoice. Since the release of Lightfall, Bungie has had server issues with Destiny 2. Players have been frustrated by stability issues and frequent error warnings, and in extreme circumstances, the servers for the looter shooter have been completely shut down.

As a result of how serious the issue had become, the developer acknowledged in a blog post on June 29 that it was actively trying to improve server stability. It anticipates that by the start of Season 22, most of the fixes will have been implemented. When the servers are down, Bungie tweets about it on its official support Twitter account to alert Destiny 2 users. As of this writing, the Bungie Help account’s latest tweet on server stability was on July 9. Thus, more than a week has passed with no downtime.

The servers for Destiny 2 haven’t gone down in almost a week

The Destiny 2 community has been rejoicing on Reddit due to the improvements in server stability. It’s been a while since servers managed to go a week without pissing themselves, but it finally happened; the last Bungo assistance tweet was sent over a week ago, according to the article highlighting this accomplishment. Is anyone ready to wager that they will survive for two weeks? One player was asked to predict the length of the streak, and his response was, “I’m betting on Tuesday since it’s Solstice, and the armor looks good this time.” Instead, other answers expressed worry that the OP may have cursed everyone by saying, “Don’t jinx it,” and “And the next time they sh*t themselves, we blame you for jinxing it.”

Some others used the chance to mock previous server stability difficulties, saying, “Destiny has worse uptime than a McDonald’s ice cream machine.” One person asked, “Are we supposed to praise them for keeping a game we’ve paid a significant amount for up and running for one week?” Others saw the post congratulating Bungie for accomplishing what was expected. Although Destiny 2’s servers seem to have improved, there are still problems with Bungie’s online shop, where users need to get the products they bought.
