Fnatic Fires Reptile for Account Name Incident Involving Adolf Hitler Reference

Fnatic has fired professional League of Legends player and broadcaster Reptile after he unintentionally disclosed that the name of one of his other accounts was Adolf Hitler.

The bot lane player for Fnatic’s academy team, a German AD Carry, made the error while looking for an account that featured a Draven skin he liked. He logged into the incorrect account, exposing the choice of name to his audience.

Fnatic drops the Hitler-themed Smurf account in favor of Reptile

Reptile can be seen checking into his accounts in a video that has gone viral on Twitter and searching for the one with the skin he wants. However, the one he ultimately selected led him to one of his Smurf accounts. The account’s name, “HITLER199,” was apparent at the upper right, and Reptile immediately understood his error. He swiftly closed the account, muttering, “Oh-oh sh*t. That account is incorrect. No, heck no. Even though he quickly closed the League client, it remained visible long enough for observers to see the account’s name.

Another player named Scriptless said that he had altered the account’s name half a year earlier as a joke and was unaware that this would have caused issues for Reptile. The player was fired by Fnatic and Team Queso a few hours after the event went viral on social media. According to a statement, “Today’s event on this stream shows that he doesn’t represent the values of either Team Queso or Fnatic at all, and he doesn’t meet the criteria of exemplarity that anyone who is a part of either of the two entities must show at all times, both inside and outside of the competition.”

The Reptile reacts to the events with the Smurfs

Reptile released a statement on Twitter shortly after Fnatic revealed his termination to provide further context. He said that he shared the account in question “around half a year ago,” which is when the name change took place. He wrote that I had yet to learn the account was designated in this manner. It is a bad name. Which explains why I went in during the broadcast. Even though I was aware of the name change since the person I shared the account with plays Draven. I even remarked in the tape that I wanted a Draven skin.

“I hope that clarifies the issue. Once again, I am entirely at fault and must live with the consequences. Thank you for reading, and I hope I may be pardoned by the individuals I offended.
