Activision Faces Community Outrage for Selling Recolored Skins from Previous Call of Duty Games in Warzone 2

The community is outraged by Activision’s sale of recolored skins from previous Call of Duty games in Warzone 2. Activision has added many new cosmetic items to Warzone 2 since Season 3 started. Including the expensive BlackCell battle pass and bundles that the public has dubbed “pay to win.”

Since many Warzone 2 gamers disapproved of these adjustments, a brand-new monetization strategy has been put into place. The publisher of Call of Duty is currently attempting to offer players recolored skins from the first Modern Warfare reboot.

Modern Warfare 2 skins that have been colored fully retail in Warzone 2

Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 received a new package on April 18. The cannabis-themed bundle, Tracer Pack: Dr. Kushlov. It costs 2,400 COD Points and makes use of materials from the preceding Modern Warfare.

A variation of the Kastov 762 is called the Vaporizer. In which is an AK-47 with electric bullets from Modern Warfare has been included in the bundle. The Vaporizer fires green tracers in place of electricity and produces a Smoke Puff death effect. The Vaporizer and Resonant are essentially interchangeable, with the exception of the recolored version, tracers, and new death effects. Even though it uses different variations of the same barrel and magazine attachment, the gun type is remarkably identical.

Additionally, the Dr. Kushlov bundle includes an operator skin for Gromsko that makes use of the Dr. Karlov skin worn by Bale in Modern Warfare. Yet asked about the discrepancies, Call of Duty YouTuber HunterTV responded, “I don’t understand how they couldn’t transfer bundles from MW2019 when tons of blueprints, skins, assets, and huge structures transferred over with no problem.” StoneMountain64, a Warzone streamer, made fun of the circumstance by joking, “All the fun of repurchasing the same skin,” along with a laughing emoji.

In response, Reddit users who expressed their displeasure expressed their opinions on the subject clearly: “It’s crazy how much stuff is being taken from the last MW game and being resold to people. It is f**king awful. The majority of items in many bundles sold recently were purchased two to three years ago.

Recoloring skins has occurred in other battle royale games, such as Apex Legends, but there hasn’t been quite the same public resentment. Therefore, we must wait to see if anything changes on the CoD side.
