Riot Games has included a player title in the game that serves as a memorial to the late Valorant professional player Karel ‘Twisten’ Aenbrener.
On July 7, Team Vitality broke the news that Twisten had passed away. The professional player for Valorant had been struggling with depression and had checked himself into a facility for mental health earlier this year due to his self-inflicted injuries. Before signing with the French organization in late 2022, he was a great Jett player for Team Vitality and rose to popularity on BIG and Entropiq. He then signed with the French team.
Twisten was given the Player Title in Valorant, ensuring his eternal legacy
Riot has made the in-game name of Twisten, a former Valorant pro player who passed away recently, available as a Player Title in the upcoming Episode 7 Act 1 Battle Pass. It is the second time Riot has paid tribute to a recently deceased professional player with an in-game award; this time, it is to the Valorant pro.
The creators of Valorant gave Gizem ‘Luie’ Harmankaya her Player Title so that she will always be remembered in the Episode 6 Act 3 Battle Pass. Luie passed away after the earthquakes that struck Turkey while he was competing in the EMEA Game Changers circuit. Fans will have the same opportunity to acquire the Twisten Player Title through the free edition of the Battle Pass, just as they did with Luie’s Player Title. As soon as players have completed the fifth tier, they can access it.
In the wake of his departure, numerous prominent community members have expressed their intention to honor the pro by making financial contributions to organizations that improve mental health. Before he passed away, Twisten organized a charity drive for VCT LOCK//IN in which he promised to provide a predetermined sum for each Shorty kill that occurred throughout the competition. His charity effort for VCT Masters Tokyo was kept alive by community members, and they have given more than $6,000 to support the cause. As the next Episode is scheduled to be released on June 27, players can continue showing appreciation for Twisten by unlocking the Player Title in Valorant.
