Fans Express Disappointment Over Lack of Complexity in Final Fantasy 16’s Item Outfitting System

Players of Final Fantasy 16 have complained that the item outfitting system in the game lacks complexity. And that they are disappointed that they cannot improve their favorite swords.  At the moment, Final Fantasy 16 is receiving a lot of praise. However, some are dismayed that the game has moved away from its roots. It has received positive reviews and continues to enchant players. The game has moved farther into the action genre. Favoring fast-paced, combo-heavy fighting over complex RPG systems and a more comprehensive range of gameplay options. Even while Final Fantasy 16 is among the best action games ever created. It also violated specific fan favorites of the series.

However, the game’s equipment and weapon system must be improved, even for those who appreciate it. Each item only has two valuable stats, and you typically replace older gear with newer items with higher values. Even if you wanted to, there is no good reason to preserve outdated weapons.

Players desire swords to feel more valuable

On the Final Fantasy subreddit, users have harshly called swords “worthless” in a meme that uses a Gravity Falls design. At the time of writing, a thread requesting an upgrade system to counteract this has received over 700 likes.  The game usually rewards you with a new “rare” sword after each significant Eikon battle. Based on the Eikons, these beautiful elemental swords are a terrific way to display your accomplishments on your back.

The problem is that the swords quickly lose stat parity as you advance through the game, and there is no reason to keep one around because it is worse in every manner. It’s incredibly aggravating, a Redditor wrote, to arrive at the base and find that your purple sword is already vulnerable to a white or green sword.Another player commented, “This game’s crafting mechanism is pointless. One person said, “Just keep playing the main story; you’ll eventually find a better sword,” while another described the system as an “afterthought.”

If nothing else, players would benefit significantly if they were allowed to keep their swords because they liked how they looked. If Square Enix adds a transmog system, players can choose how their sword looks, even if they change it to increase its stats. The game’s creators should be able to figure out how to expand this mechanism eventually.
