The entire FaZe Clan’s North American Challengers Valorant lineup has been made available as the organization has announced its release. After the conclusion of the North American Challengers competition and the absence of any upcoming matches, FaZe Clan has decided to release its whole Valorant roster, following in the footsteps of G2 Esports and TSM. The five Valorant players competing for FaZe in the North American Challengers League were released from the company on July 24, and the news of their release was revealed on that day.
The squad was only able to accomplish a little throughout the competition. FaZe did not have to compete in the open qualifier system to gain a position in the tournament because they were invited to join the league at the beginning of 2023. FaZe earned a spot in the Mid-Season Face Off competition by finishing with a record of 2-3 in the group stage during the first split. The team was one of the first to be eliminated from the competition after suffering 2-0 defeats at the hands of both The Guard and G2 Esports.
FaZe performed better during the second split, finishing with a record of 3-2 in the group-stage matches to earn a spot in the playoff tournament. FaZe had a more robust performance in this competition, finishing fifth to sixth. However, they were unable to qualify for the VCT Americas Ascension.
FaZe Clan depart NA Challengers amid uncertain Valorant future
It should not come as a surprise that the squad has been disbanded, given that there is now nothing for it to participate in. While no Challengers events are currently taking place or scheduled to commence, the competition at the highest level, tier one, will begin on August 6 with the Valorant Champions.
It is currently unknown whether or not these clubs will keep their spots in the league, and it is doubtful that this information will be divulged for at least a few more months, as the Valorant free agency period will begin shortly after Valorant Champions.
