Over the past week, Niantic has implemented several quality-of-life adjustments to Pokemon Go, some of which were later reverted. The most recent one emphasizes the completion of Collection Challenges. Niantic, the company that developed Pokemon Go, made the controversial decision to revert what it described as an “unintended” problem. This bug caused the Wild Spawn Radius in the smartphone game to increase.
Although much attention was paid to that move, Niantic needs to modify the experience that Go, trainers have to go through. Niantic has taken a stealthy step to make it less challenging to discover wild Pokemon, which must be captured to progress through the various Collection Challenges.
We are introducing a brand new component to Pokemon Go’s Collection Challenges!
People on Reddit have started noticing a new addition to the Pokemon Go experience. This new inclusion should simplify completing Collection Challenges for players who have already chosen their course in the Timed Research challenge. One of our users noted that particular Pokemon in the ‘Nearby’ radar would have a ribbon displayed next to them. This new feature alerts players to a Pokemon in the wild that is located nearby and must be captured to go through a particular Collection Challenge. This Collection Challenge is connected to the current Dark Flames Times Research and requires players to catch either the Dark or Fire-type Pokemon.
Even though some debate preceded it, this new feature is one of a series of improvements to Go’s overall quality of life recently implemented in the game. The Wild Spawn Radius of Pokemon that can be discovered in the mobile game was dramatically enhanced after Niantic released an update just a few days ago that significantly expanded it. It was a change that generated a significant amount of good reaction. Still, immediately after the developer Niantic stated its intent to reverse the move, they announced that they would roll it back. It has been made clear by Niantic that the increase in the Wild Spawn Radius was “unintended,” and a director for Pokemon Go has indicated that the adjustment does cause compatibility issues with the Go+ gadget.
