Nerfing Seer: The Impact of Dressed to Kill on Apex Legends’ Underrated Legend

Even though Seer is not near the top of the Apex Legends pick rate list, Respawn nevertheless decided to penalize the character by giving them a series of nerfs during the Dressed to Kill event. These nerf particularly severe. The first event of Season 17 for Apex Legends, titled Dressed to Kill, brings back the Legendary Time Trial known as Armed and Dangerous and adds 24 collection cosmetics. In addition, a new Horizon heirloom will be introduced, and adjustments will be made to the game’s overall balance.

The first patch for Season 17 left no Legend unaffected, and, Catalyst, Mirage, and Ash all received minor stat increases as a result. A few reworks to classes were the highlight of an otherwise unremarkable balancing list; no Legend was made weaker due to the changes. However, the same cannot be said of the Dressed to Kill update, as Seer was on the receiving end of several significant skill reductions after the patch.

The Dressed to Kill event dealt nerfs to all three Seer’s abilities

The meager pick rate of 2.2% that Seer possesses is displayed on the list of Apex Legends pick rates for Season 17. This is ranked 17th out of a total of 24 Legends. A massive nerf to every ability means that we won’t see Seer move up that list anytime soon, even though he doesn’t exactly leap off the page as a hero that must be used.

Users of the Seer ability shine brightest when they can provide their allies with information about their opponents. The most recent patch has dealt a significant hit to that ability. When aiming down sights, the Legend can now hear and see the heartbeats of surrounding foes thanks to Heart Seeker. The range of the Passive ability went from 75 meters down to 60 meters, a drop of 15 meters.

The Focus of Attention ability unleashes a blast that both hinders and discloses the location of nearby foes through solid objects, such as walls. The range of this ability has also been reduced from 75 meters to 60 meters, and the amount of time it takes to scan has been cut from eight seconds down to 2.5 seconds. Regarding the Ultimate ability of the Seer, the Legend only has the capacity to toss it 15 meters as opposed to the previous 50, and its efficiency in revealing foes has decreased. The Seer’s most potent ability was significantly nerfed, and on top of that, Respawn took away the Legend’s ability to heal and cancel revives.
