Since Reyna continues to be a popular choice for smurfs, devoted players are pleading with the Riot developers to overhaul the duelist. Agents have frequently dipped in and out of the metagame since Valorant’s release in 2020. Despite Riot developers’ best efforts to modify the game to keep it interesting, one agent, in particular, has always remained a player favorite.
We are, of course, referring to Reyna. Players are begging for improvements to the agent since the bloodthirsty duelist has one of the highest pick rates in the game and has the power to flash enemies, regenerate health, and even temporarily become indestructible.
Dedicated followers demand a Reyna redesign to stop the Smurfs
Perzonic, a Valorant player, requested that Reyna be changed in a Reddit thread on June 17 because they believe it will assist them in fighting Smurfs with lower Elo ratings. The gamer wrote, “Reyna needs a rework or something; she’s practically just a smurf character. She’s terrible in high rank (or so I’ve heard), but at a low level, she’s a smurf’s wet dream because all that separates her from the competition is that she excels in gunfights.
The chance you formerly had of defeating the Smurf through pure HP advantage has vanished because a Smurf Reyna only has 150 HP in every battle. The character is just a low-elo stomper for Smurfs, and every single low-elo game appears to be, “Hey, let’s see who has the reyna Smurf this game!” Then they said, “It’s just sh*t.”
Many players emphasized the power of the agency even in higher rankings, and other fans felt that the agent must be changed. Amazed she hasn’t received any Nerfs since she debuted. Health, vision, and blindness regenerate. Just a little too much, one said. Another user clarified that she had been nerfed and had been much stronger before being released. Another countered that the problem isn’t only with one agent but also with general smurfs. Not Reyna; the issue is smurfing. Smurfs are high rank because they will beat you up if you give them any agent, they wrote. If the developers feel Reyna’s effect on low MMR is different from what they’d like it to be, Episode 7’s anticipated June 27 premiere date may be the ideal time to make some tweaks.
