Following the Regidrago Global Makeup event, Pokemon Go players want one significant modification to the catch rates during Elite Raids. On May 13, 2023, Pokemon Go’s Regidrago Global Makeup event was held, giving players a second chance to catch Generation 8’s Legendary Titan after problems marred the first one.
For those who don’t know, Elite Raids are incredibly challenging Raid competitions that trainers must participate in in life. Players can catch the target of an Elite Raid and add them to their roster if they succeed in defeating them in combat. However, some trainers believe that the effort required to catch these Pokemon is not worthwhile, and they urge Niantic to make Elite Raid captures guaranteed.
Trainers in Pokemon Go desire guaranteed catches from Elite Raids
Unlucky fans used social media to air their frustrations after their attempts at an Elite Raid failed since Regidrago abruptly left the situation. One trainer posted a screenshot of their Regidrago attempt to run away, saying, “Thank you, Niantic, that was a waste of effort. Another gamer posted with the headline, “Bruhh in, person raids should be 100% catchable and remote raids at a chance.”
Others in the community had mixed opinions about the notion; some thought it was just a chance of the draw, while others thought there should be benefits to help trainers catch the rate increase. “I’ve always thought that stringing together strong throws should help the following. That being said, RNG is RNG; you’re unfortunate, buddy said one supporter. However, another player argued that this has always been the case with legendary raids, and Elites are no exception. It would be equally worthless if it were a sure thing to catch.
A fan countered this claim by stating that a fixed catch rate might not significantly alter the game’s design, given the nature of Pokemon Go and Elite Raids. With games like Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, they claimed, gamers have more free time to participate in activities like Tera Raids that include uncommon Pokemon.
Due to its more significant time and financial commitment, attending some events and capturing uncommon monsters with Pokemon Go is significantly more challenging. “Can’t do several elite raids for a variety of reasons? Oh well. You won’t get Regidrago, possibly not for another year or more. This game favors people who have fewer obligations in real life. Although Niantic’s guarantee of catches for Elite Raid targets seems unlikely, it is evident that the current situation is displeasing some unfortunate trainers.
