The Gift Dilemma: Pokemon Go Players Express Frustration Over Unopened Gifts

One gamer of Pokemon Go took issue with other players who received Gifts in the mobile game but did not open them. It’s essential to remember that Pokemon Go is a social mobile game requiring players to regularly participate in Raids with other people and deliver Gifts to their friends.

Individuals who require immediate rewards or experience can benefit greatly from receiving Gifts, as long as the recipients are willing to accept them. One of the Go players voiced their unhappiness over the fact that they are inactive about Gifts.

Gifts are a contentious subject among gamers of Pokemon Go

Gifts, and more significantly, the players who are inactive and don’t open the ones sent, are the subject of a meme posted on Reddit by a user who goes by the handle of “Moonimations.” The meme conveyed the user’s displeasure with one of the game mechanics in Pokemon Go. This is the caption under the meme: “I know there is a daily limit, but some gifts have been sitting here for weeks.”

A few gamers have commented on the “tedious nature” of managing presents in Pokemon Go. One of the players said, “It’s so boring. I give it my all, but the truth is that this game is dangling by a thread for me, and there are moments when I can’t bring myself to complete the task. Another user said they did not open Gifts to avoid getting “garbage” Eggs. It is easy to see why someone who often gives Gifts to players but does not see those Gifts opened might get irritated. Players who are fortunate enough to get a gift in Pokemon Go may be eligible for various valuable random goodies, including unique 7-km Eggs, Poke Balls, and Stardust, amongst other things.

The recipient of a Gift in a mobile game can use it to obtain experience points for themselves. Aside from the desire to avoid receiving “garbage” awards, there is most certainly another reason why even engaged gamers would wait on them. To be eligible to receive a reward for accepting a Gift, a player’s Inventory must have sufficient free space. In a recent post on the Pokemon Go subreddit, some players said that this is why they would wait on Gifts but would not open them because they are afraid of losing their Pokemon.
