Terror at Genshin Impact Summer Festival 2023 in Seoul: Evacuation Amid Bomb Threat

Fans of Genshin in South Korea were delighted to attend the Genshin Impact Summer Festival held at the Olympic Park in Seoul. There, they would have the opportunity to meet other fans and display their cosplays. However, a Twitter user tweeted an image of what seemed to be a homemade bomb along with a threat to detonate it at the Genshin Impact event. This led to the intervention of law enforcement, which compelled cosplayers and supporters to flee the venue.

An image posted by a Twitter user who has since been suspended showed what seemed to be an improvised explosive hidden inside a pressure cooker. The person had previously threatened to detonate the device during the event. According to a report from a South Korean news agency called Yonhap, the venue still needs to be evacuated to ensure the safety of those attending the event, even though the Twitter user is still at large and the bomb has not been located.

Along with photographs of the location, the tweet shows a pressure cooker that was apparently filled with explosives and placed inside a tote bag. The bomb threat was accompanied by a purpose, which explained why this threat was directed exclusively toward Genshin Impact players. Cosplayers can be seen in photos taken in the aftermath of the threat packing away their belongings as massive police trucks come to investigate.

The police immediately cleared out the Olympic Park as they searched for the explosives and ensured that it would be safe to continue with the celebration. And once the fans had completed their search of the entire structure, they could re-enter the arena and continue enjoying the festivities.
