Pokemon Go Players Face Difficulty Hatching Rare Larvesta During An Instinctive Hero Event

Pokemon Go enthusiasts believe it will take a “miracle” to catch Larvesta because of the effort required to hatch the larva-like monster from eggs. During the An Instinctive Hero event, which started today, May 2, Larvesta and its evolution, Volcarona, joined the mobile game. Next Monday, May 8, at 10:00 AM local time, the event concludes.

While six days may seem like plenty of time to unlock new Pokemon, hatching Larvesta from its eggs will take longer. POGO trainers can only obtain Larvesta by hatching it from an egg 2km, 5km, or 10km away. Players cannot guarantee they’ll unlock Larvesta at all because other monsters from these specified egg pools can hatch.

Larvesta in Pokemon Go won’t be simple to hatch

In the TheSliphRoad subreddit, Reddit user windycitykid89 posted a screenshot of their “Hatchable Pokemon” development. The player said, “Looks like it’s gonna take a miracle to hatch Larvesta in eggs.”

Others concur with this viewpoint. The Sliph Road website’s “Egg Transparency” entry, which claims that – based on Larvesta’s rarity tier – the monster may have a hatch rate of less than two percent, was even referenced by one person. Not many players seem overly optimistic about their chances of obtaining Larvesta and its evolution before An Instinctive Hero concludes.

Because Pokemon Go could be better at calculating travel distance, another Redditor claimed that there is little chance of finding Larvesta. I’m impatiently waiting for none of my eggs to hatch because the game still incorrectly counts my travel distance. Another person jokingly said that rather than participating in the event, they would “wait until it’s community day in 2025.” It’s a reply to a separate user’s assertion that the grind is pointless “when it will get featured in future events and eventually a community day.”

According to the same source, the “ridiculous rarity” of species like Larvesta further undermines the enthusiasm. Such thinking is wider than the most recent in-game event, as trainers have criticized the lack of incentive to participate.
