Overwatch 2 fans hope for a DC Comics collaboration after Widowmaker’s ‘Harlequin’ skin debut

Many players in Overwatch 2 hope that DC Comics and Blizzard will work together on another project after seeing Widowmaker’s unique new Harley Quinn-style skin called “Harlequin.” Overwatch 2 debuted in the realm of crossovers earlier this year with a fantastic collaboration with One Punch Man. Ever since then, fans have been excited to find out what the developers have in store for them next regard.

Although the developers have expressed interest in a crossover with Dragon Ball Z, and Art Director Dion Rogers has suggested several potential skin concepts for such an event, players are more interested in DC Comics. Fans of both franchises are keeping their fingers crossed that the appearance of a new Harlequin skin for the Widowmaker character in the Overwatch 2 shop is a sign of some kind.

Widowmaker ‘Harleyquinn’ skin stuns Overwatch and DC fans

After the skin was highlighted in the shop on April 25, players of Overwatch began calling for other cosmetics that could be DC-inspired even if they did not directly crossover with DC characters. “Bane, would you rather have me cast you as Reinhardt or Doomfist? On the Overwatch 2 Cavalry Twitter account, a fan observed, “And Joker is kinda already Junkrat.”

Several fans on Reddit believed that a DC crossover announcement was imminent when they first saw the skin. “Batman Reaper. One person proposed that Manbat Winston. Someone else penned “Superman for Doomfist” in their entry. Given that Overwatch 2 has already released this skin, it is highly improbable that DC will collaborate on anything in the near future. The developers have access to a number of various contemporary and alternate interpretations of Harley Quinn to select from in the event that they decide to go ahead with the project.

As more Overwatch 2 collaborations are eventually disclosed, we will have to wait and see what ends up occurring and which crossovers the developers have planned for the near and distant future.
