The official birth dates of Mario’s primary antagonist, Bowser, and his son, Bowser Jr., have been confirmed by Nintendo, but this new information is making some fans feel pretty old. One of the oldest and most well-known video game franchises ever is the Mario series. Since its initial release in 1985, Super Mario Bros. has become a gaming industry pillar.
The renowned Mario group has gained fame as a gaming icon and their very own movie, which caused quite a stir among moviegoers and even their theme park at Universal Studios. Many fans of the fun-file video games have grown up playing the Mario series throughout its 38-year history, but in 2023, Nintendo revealed some shocking facts in a YouTube video that slapped fans hard in the face.
Nintendo discloses the ages of Bowser and Bowser Jr
Nintendo of America published a YouTube video on June 2, 2023, instructing new Switch players on how to set up their Nintendo accounts. They chose Bowser as an example, whose birthday they listed as
February 5, 1989, in the field for entering personal information. Bowser is now 34, the same age as some Mario game enthusiasts. That’s not all; it also used Bowser Jr., whose birthday they put as March 3, 2010, as an example for adding kids under 12 to one’s Nintendo account.
Of course, knowing this is amusing, and it slightly humanizes some of Mario’s most well-known characters. Also, it’s making quite a few fans feel dated. “Oh. I suppose I’m Bowser’s senior. Wonderful,” one Twitter user said.
Another jokingly said, “Good lord, Bowser Jr. might be a Fortnite kid.” Some people, though, are still determining these dates because it would mean that Bowser and Bowser Jr. truly made their first appearances in games before they were even born.
These times may or may not be technically official; the ages of many Mario characters are still a matter of debate. After witnessing the Mario Movie, where Princess Peach is rumored to be in her early to mid-20s, fans are still in the dark regarding her age.
