Blizzard has revealed that they will release a new player-against-player game mode for Overwatch 2 called Flashpoint right before the next season begins. Players of Overwatch 2 have been waiting impatiently for new content to be added to the multiplayer game. The Overwatch 2 team finally presented it during the Xbox Games Showcase. Even though players will be able to get their hands on the update on August 10, 2023, fans of the franchise have a lot to look forward to in the future installments of the game.
It is said to be the most significant update that has ever come to the game up to this point, and it features a core game mode with two brand-new locations, both of which will be the most significant maps to touch Overwatch 2 since the game’s initial release.
New Flashpoint PvP game mode for Overwatch 2
The battles will continue to be played with five players on each side, and the teams will compete for possession of several strategic locations spread out over the map. The objective is to secure control of three of them before the rival team can do so. It is similar to the Assault (2CP) game mode taken out of Overwatch. Things will move at a breakneck speed because as soon as one point is won, the next one will be completely ready to be won. This will test every player’s agility and speed as they attempt to stake their claim on points before being forced to retreat to spawn.
In addition, the game’s creators have stated that players will need to make strategic plans to keep control of the battlefield and prevent the adversary from reaching the capture point before it is even in a position where it can be captured. The new PvP mode comes with various cosmetic options, a striking new battle pass, several different ways for your players to increase their skill levels, and plenty more. This update would include a variety of new story tasks for players to complete, providing everyone with much to do for a considerable amount of time. On August 10, 2023, Overwatch 2: Invasion will become available to play on the Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox One.
