The mobile game Pokemon Go has experienced its fair share of technical difficulties, such as the match shrinking people so that they are face-to-face with the Pokemon they are catching or some very unusual situations from creatures as they are battling each other.

However, one that never fails to make fans grin is when the game manages to merge two Pokemon, either producing a new monster or a somewhat tricky situation with what appears to be a pretty hungry Weepinbell and an unfortunate Starly. This event always makes fans happy.

A photograph of a glitch in Pokemon Go was published on Reddit by a user who goes by the name HugeNate. The image shows Weepinbell and Starly being placed in awkward proximity to one another, making it appear that Weepinbell is either wearing a fashionable new hat or attempting to eat poor Starly.

Naturally, people found this combo hilarious, saying things like “Weepinbell certainly wasn’t eating Starly” and that “the Starly is just wearing a goofy hat.” Some even considered the possibility of Niantic incorporating this as a recurring feature into the game, citing that they “would pay top dollar for a good Weepinbell hat.”

It is interesting to note, as was brought to light by a devoted player of Pokemon Go, that “the plant that Weepinbell represents is a carnivorous plant.” It digests frogs and bugs that get stuck within,” meaning that the ‘hat’ Starly is wearing may be a lot more menacing, and it’s an awful situation for the bird. Many people would rather believe this strange glitch to be a stylish hat for Starly, with others coining the invention a “weeping” – but given the nature and inspiration of Weepinbell, it may not be as charming as it seems, even if it is merely a humorously unfortunate malfunction.
