Fortnite Players Demand Immediate Hitbox Changes for Rocks

Rocks are the focal point of this time’s hitbox controversy, which has gamers of Fortnite miffed once more. Hitboxes, in other words, decide whether or not a player’s strike has impacted a target or adversary. Hitboxes are particularly interesting to the shooter and fighting game players. Therefore, Fortnite and other games like it occasionally bring up the subject.

However, many contend that Fortnite doesn’t always get it correctly. For instance, in the past, users could not deliver damage to adversaries nearby due to a tree’s hitbox. In this case, the tree might get destroyed rather than the adversary getting hurt. Unfortunately, a similar problem has surfaced, destroying one player’s opportunity for what ought to have been a simple kill.

Users of Fortnite want Epic to change the hitboxes on the rock immediately

Reddit user Yaboymes submitted a gameplay video with the remark, “Rock hitboxes need [to be] changed.” The 20-second short sums up the Redditor’s frustrations in precisely the right amount of time.

The user notices an opponent on the balcony in the background of the video. The Redditor equips their sniper rifle and positions what appears to be the ideal shot because they are so far away. Although a large boulder is nearby, the shooter still has enough room to hit their objective. The shooter damages the rock rather than the far-off prey. Taking off a machine gun also has little effect. Only the giant boulder is demolished after a few more clean shots that should have done the job. And even when it’s gone from view, the adversary retreats without being hurt.

Naturally, other players share the Reddit user’s suffering. One guy commented, “Oof, you got mega robbed there.” Another person commented in the forum, “Didn’t know rocks had hitboxes that high that sucks.” Also, a seasoned Fortnite player reflected on hitbox troubles caused by trees in the past, saying, “Last season it was the trees; this season it’s the rocks.” Another Fortnite player claimed that tree hitboxes are still “broken,” especially on Rumble. It needs to be clarified if and when Epic Games will fix these issues.
