Dr. Disrespect Slams “Pathetic” Call of Duty PR Team Over Removal of NICKMERCS’ Bundle

After Activision revoked NICKMERC’s operator bundle in response to the streamer’s controversial comments regarding a pro-LGBT demonstration, Dr. Disrespect criticized the video game as “pathetic.” After responding to a tweet that showed a student demonstrating against the recognition of Pride Month in a school, FaZe member and co-owner NICKMERCS came under intense scrutiny and criticism. Nick’s response, “They should leave little children alone,” resulted in outrage on Twitter. “They should leave little children alone.”

After that, he went on to explain his position and claim that it was fair. As justification for his comment, he cited the recent birth of his child. Because of this, Call of Duty removed his bundle from Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. While some community members agreed with this decision, others took a stand against it by removing Call of Duty from their systems. Dr. Disrespect, a well-known internet personality, has weighed in on the debate and believes that the video game company Call of Duty made the incorrect decision.

The “Call of Duty PR” team has come under fire from Dr. Disrespect over the decision to remove the NICKMERCS bundle from Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. He expressed his thoughts in a tweet: “Who’s running Call of Duty PR and Marketing now? Are these the same individuals who were in the purple snakes? Pathetic.”

Dr. Disrespect refers to Twitch and the people responsible for running the broadcasting platform as “purple snakes,” which is also the name of the phrase. Also, he has been vociferous in his opposition to the policy changes that Twitch has implemented, most recently aiming at the company’s abandoned attempts to prohibit branded material.

The Doc’s observations on the disassembly of NICKMERCS’ bundle are interesting since they come from a novel vantage position. Although he is best known for streaming at this point in his career, he previously served as a level designer for the Call of Duty franchise at Sledgehammer Games. During his tenure at Sledgehammer Games, Dr. Disrespect contributed to developing several multiplayer maps for Advanced Warfare. Some of these maps include Quarantine, Recovery, and Solar. In October of 2022, he revealed a strong desire to see Advanced Warfare 2 and would think about getting involved again if he was approached.
