Players of Diablo 4 who were dissatisfied with the Treasure Goblin loot drops that occurred during the Server Slam have been provided a reassuring update by a Diablo 4 developer. Treasure Goblins were a type of creature featured in Diablo 3 and Immortal. These goblins were utterly harmless but were experts at stealing precious items. The goblins won’t actively pursue the players, but they can still be attacked by the players in the hopes of regaining particular goods.
The gremlins made a welcome return in Diablo 4, thanks to Blizzard’s efforts. However, players who participated in the Server Slam were underwhelmed by the event because the much-anticipated prize pinatas barely dropped anything worth it. On Reddit and other online forums, participants in the Server Slam stated that despite killing multiple Treasure Goblins, they only received blues as a reward. Blizzard has begun taking the necessary actions to address the issue.
Diablo 4 has improved Treasure Goblin loot drops before the game’s release
Shortly after the conclusion of the Server Slam, a Twitter user reached out to Rod Fergusson, Diablo’s SVP and General Manager, and asked the developer to look into the Treasure Goblin issue.
The gamer stated that they had slain over 20 unique Treasure Goblins during the Server Slam but that none of them had ever dropped a Legendary item. The issue has been resolved, at least according to Fergusson. The developer responded that Blizzard was aware of the problem and that the issue has been resolved in time for the launch the following month.
The update posted by Fergusson was rapidly shared across Reddit, where it received positive feedback from website users. Someone made a joking comment along the lines of, “After three betas, Trash Goblin finally evolved into Treasure Goblin.” Another person mentioned that Blizzard “is very on top of things this time around.” As the launch date of Diablo 4 creeps closer, here’s hoping the studio can keep up the same level of momentum they’ve been showing. On Friday, June 2, the long-awaited role-playing game (RPG) will finally launch across many platforms, including PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
