Bungie ultimately addressed a flaw on July 19, 2023, with the Liar’s Handshake Hunter exotic promising a cure in Season 22 of Destiny 2. Since Season of Plunder, this glitch has been there, and gamers are not thrilled about it. In Destiny 2, the Hunter Exotic Liar’s Handshake features the Cross Counter perk. Which heals you if you receive damage from an adversary and strike them back with a melee attack. The bonus, however, could be more effective when combined with the Gathering Storm super.
Players initially brought up this glitch while Season of Plunder, a DLC for the Witch Queen expansion published last year, was in-game. Recent Reddit threads, however, assert that the glitch is still present in the game. In response, Bungie said that the Liar’s Handshake problem is being addressed and will be resolved in the following season.
Players of Destiny 2 are upset that Exotic has been bugged for so long
The Hunter exotic problem has been present in the game since Season of Plunder’s release about a year ago. However, Bungie did concede that it would be rectified in Season 22. Players are thus dissatisfied that this flaw still needs to be resolved. AMM0D, a Reddit member, recently brought up the problem again by simply posting that “liars handshake still doesn’t work correctly if you have gathering storm as your super.” Other gamers quickly joined the conversation, and as of right now, the post has 1.5k likes and 54 comments.
One player expressed dissatisfaction with the problem by writing, “I will always upvote this topic whenever I see it until it is fixed.” Another gamer made fun of the fact that Bungie does enhance exotics while introducing cosmetics by saying, “Don’t worry, it’ll get fixed next time an ornament comes out.”
Lastly, a player added that since they believe the issue has gone unaddressed for far too long, “We should flood Bungie bug reports with evidence; I don’t think this has been addressed once, lol.” But this is not the first occasion; a person named iCracked posted about this problem around a month ago. Players also vented their anger at Bungie in the comments section of that post.
In reality, several players brought up an issue with the Warlock’s Celestial Fire ability. Which does not function while wearing specific armor, such as Sunbracers, Felwinter’s Helm, or Heavy Handed. Additionally, this problem has been in the game for over a year and is still unfixable.
