Call of Duty Pro Zer0 Announces Retirement After Nearly a Decade in the Competitive Scene

Trei “Zer0” Morris, who has played Call of Duty professionally for almost ten years, has decided to put his controller behind him before the 2024 CDL season. Amid the chaotic 2024 CDL roster mania, a few recognizable figures have decided to retire. Sam ‘Octane’ Larew, a multiple-time Call of Duty winner and 2022 world champion, announced his retirement in June. Zer0 has now also decided to stop playing Call of Duty professionally.

Zer0 took part in the inaugural Call of Duty World League season in 2015 as a member of Team Infused. And he has since remained active on the scene. The outstanding sniper was crowned the Stage 1 MVP of the 2017 CWL Global Pro League Playoffs. With FaZe, Zer0 concluded his career with two event victories and a third-place result at the 2019 CWL League Finals. Also, Zer0 played for New York in the 2020 season of the CDL era and spent two distinct periods with the London Royal Ravens.

Zer0 leaves the CDL following a great Call of Duty run

Zer0 announced his retirement from competitive Call of Duty on July 7.  “This has been my life for almost ten years now, competing at the highest level, and I’ve loved every bit of it, from being a sweaty PS3 kid to becoming one of the first European players to win an event on North American soil and winning MVP while doing that. To everyone who has supported me throughout my time competing, I love you, but it’s time for Coach Cartier to come out to play.”

Zer0 left up the possibility of a future Coach/GM CDL job. HE RECOMMENDED THAT any CDL teams are welcome to get in touch if they are interested. Zer0 received praise from the Call of Duty community for all he contributed to the scene. OpTic Methodz retorted, “Growing up competing against each other was an amazing thrill. You’ll find your path, my kid, without a doubt. Soon, Fat Tony x Cartier. “My buddy Trei, I can’t thank you enough for letting me borrow the Gucci jacket,” the ex-Minnesota Rokkr ‘Attach’ continued.

Gismo, who spent one season on the London Royal Ravens alongside Zer0, was complimentary of the other member of the European Union. “It was a pleasure playing with you, and I appreciate your assistance getting in and out of the game. You’re one of the good guys around; I’m pulling for you.
