At the 2023 PlayStation, Arrowhead Game Studios’ top-down shooter Helldivers was shown off alongside its coming sequel, which showed an entirely redesigned visual aesthetic. In 2015, the Helldivers video game, developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and released by Sony for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and the Vita, caused a stir.
For the benefit of those unaware, Helldivers is a top-down science fiction shooter in which players assume the role of military personnel tasked with defending Super Earth from the invasion of alien races known as the Bugs, the Cyborgs, and the Illuminates. Fans have now finally gotten their hands on a first look at the long-awaited sequel, Helldivers 2, which appears to have a third-person perspective. This peek was made possible by the 2023 PlayStation Showcase event.
The reveal for Helldivers 2 is in the third-person perspective
The teaser began with a parody of a military hiring film, in which one Helldiver explained the extraterrestrial dangers that confronted the made-up planet Super Earth. After that, we got our first glimpse at the gameplay, which, in comparison to the first game, looks to have been significantly revamped. Most of the action is seen from a third-person perspective. Throughout the trailer, we see players facing off against a wide array of creepy-crawly adversaries known as Bugs and making their way through various stages that feature a range of topographies.
Arrowhead Game Studios has significantly increased the production value for Helldivers 2, as the several-level landscapes, including arid wastelands, freezing tundras, and roaring thunderstorms, are breathtaking. Fans also had a glimpse or two of the several varieties of weapons, grenades, and Strategems that gamers can use to assist in completing tasks.
The announcement that Helldivers 2 would be available for both the PS5 and the PC at some point in 2023 served as the concluding statement of the trailer. Fans won’t have too much longer to wait to get their hands on this strategy game, even though we do not yet have a definite date for its release.
